Tyson Pratcher of NY State Common Retirement Fund
An accomplished attorney with extensive financial and political experience, Tyson Pratcher is the director of opportunistic investments and absolute return strategies for the New York State Common Retirement Fund. In addition to leading the investment team, Tyson Pratcher serves on the advisory boards of Blackstone Tactical Opportunities Fund, Landmark Partners, TPG Special SituationsPartners and GenX360.
Earlier in his career, Tyson Pratcher was an associate with Davis Polk and Wardwell, where he represented both domestic and international clients in securities transactions and mergers and acquisitions. His work with the firm included the representation of Comcast in a $46 billion acquisition of AT&T Broadband, as well as the pro bono representation of various defendants who protested US military bombings on thePuerto Rican island of Vieques.
Tyson Pratcher holds a bachelor of arts in political science from Hampton University and a juris doctor from Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Dunaway Scholar and contributed to the National Black Law Journal.
